The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
