The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
