The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
