The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
