The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
