The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
