The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
