The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
