The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 thinking his wealth will render him immortal! 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 in its long columns of flames. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
