Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
