The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
