Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
