The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
