The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And affirms goodness, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 But save him who fears 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
