The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
