The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
