The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
