The Embryo (Al-Alaq)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
