Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 Until ye visit the graves. 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 And yet if you knew with positive knowledge 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 On that Day, you shall be questioned about the pleasures. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
