The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 In outstretched columns. 9
True are the words of God the Almighty.
