Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
