The elders of Pharaoh's people said: 'Surely this man is a skilful magician 109 and said, "He wants to expel you from your land." They asked (others), " what is your opinion in the matter? 110 Others said: 'Put them off a while, he and his brother, and send forth to your cities gatherers 111 Who will bring you every learned magician." 112 And the magicians came to Firaun, and said, “Will we get some reward if we are victorious?” 113 He said, 'Yes, indeed; and you shall be among the near-stationed.' 114 They said: O Musa! will you cast, or shall we be the first to cast? 115 'Throw' he replied. And when they threw, they bewitched the people's eyes and terrified them, and produced great sorcery. 116 We said to Moses: "Throw down your staff;" and it swallowed up their conjurations in no time. 117 ۞ Thus the Truth prevailed and their false art was banished. 118 They were therefore defeated here and they turned back humiliated. 119 And the enchanters were thrown down, prostrating (themselves). 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 The Lord of Musa and Harun. 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 I shall assuredly cut off alternately your hands and feet, then I shall crucify you all together.' 124 They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn 125 And what is it for which thou takest vengeance on us save that we have believed in the signs of our Lord when they came unto us? Our Lord! pour out upon us perseverance and cause us to die as Muslims. 126
