[Remember] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this a city of peace and help me and my children to keep away from worshipping idols. 35 My Lord, they have led so many men astray! Anyone who follows me is with me, but if anyone turns against me, You are surely forgiving and merciful. 36 I have settled some of my children, O Lord, in a barren valley near Your sacred House, so that, O our Lord, they may be constant in devotion. So put in the hearts of men some kindness for them, and provide fruits for them: They may haply be grateful. 37 Lord, You know all that we conceal or reveal. Nothing in the heavens or the earth is hidden from God. 38 "Praise be to Allah, Who hath granted unto me in old age Isma'il and Isaac: for truly my Lord is He, the Hearer of Prayer! 39 My Lord! Make me to establish proper worship, and some of my posterity (also); our Lord! and accept my prayer. 40 "Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established." 41
