T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 only as reminder for those who have fear (of disobeying God). 3 A down-sent from Him who Created the earth and the heavens high. 4 The ever-merciful, established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire, and said to his family, 'Tarry you here; I observe a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a brand from it, or I shall find at the fire guidance.' 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 This We have done to show you some of Our greater miracles. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
