A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you by your Lord and do not follow any protector other than Him. How seldom you take heed. 3 How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. 4 and they but cried, when Our might came upon there, 'We were evildoers.'; 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 with full knowledge, We shall tell them what they did, for We have never been away from them. 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 and those whose scales are light will be the losers, for they, are the ones who have been unjust to Our signs. 9 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful. 10
