The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ NEAR HAS COME the reckoning for men, but they turn away in remissness. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" 3 He says: 'My Lord knows what is said in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.' 4 Some say, "These are his confused dreams." Others say, "He has invented it himself," and yet others say, "He is a poet. Let him bring us a sign as previous messengers did." 5 Not a city before them which We destroyed believed; will they then believe? 6 We never sent (anyone) before you except men to whom We revealed to them. 'Ask the people of the Remembrance if you do not know' 7 Nor did We make them bodies that ate no food, nor were they immortal. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 Now We have sent down to you a Book wherein is your Remembrance; will you not understand? 10
