The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
