And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, you shall be lost. 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 This man has forged a mere lie in the name of Allah and we shall never believe what he says." 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Then after them We raised other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron), with Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and manifest authority, 45 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
