And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
