The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
