The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We destroyed the others 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
