And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
