In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book,- 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
