The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 By the angels driving away. 2 and those who recite the Exhortation; 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, 8 and driven away to suffer the necessary torment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
