۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
