Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
