And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
