And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron. 114 And We delivered them both and their people from the mighty distress. 115 And helped them so that they became the victors. 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 And We kept their praise among the latter generations. 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 This is how We reward the virtuous. 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 Would you call on Baal and leave the best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore? 126 But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment),- 127 Except the chosen servants of Allah. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 'Peace be upon Elias!' 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 132 And verily, Lout (Lot) was one of the Messengers. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 and We destroyed the rest. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 and night: will you not take heed? 138
