Saad 3 of 5
We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Should We equate those who do the right with those who spread corruption in the land? Should We make those who are morally integrated equal to those who seek disintegration? 28 (This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. 29 And We bestowed on David, Solomon. How excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah). 30 Recall what time there were presented unto him, at eventide, coursers swift-footed. 31 And he said, "Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"- until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of night): 32 "Bring them back to me!" -- [he said] and began to stroke their legs and their necks. 33 And verily We tried Solomon, and set upon his throne a (mere) body. Then did he repent. 34 He said, “My Lord! Forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom, which shall not befit anyone after me; indeed only You are the Great Bestower.” 35 Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired, 36 And We subjected to him the evil ones: every builder and diver. 37 And others linked together in chains, 38 “This is Our bestowal – you may therefore bestow favours or withhold them – you will not be questioned.” 39 And lo! he hath favour with Us, and a happy journey's end. 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
