Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 About the criminals, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until death approached us". 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 running away from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
