Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And Verily, it (this Quran) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before Us, indeed Exalted, full of Wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 And not a prophet came unto them but him they were wont to mock. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “They are created by the Most Honourable, the All Knowing.” 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 And the One Who created all pairs, and made the ships and cattle as rides for you. 12 That ye mount firmly on the backs thereof, and then may remember the favour of your Lord when ye mount thereon, and may say: hallowed be He Who hath subjected this unto us, and we for it were not fit. 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
