If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him. 36 Such (evil ones) really hinder them from the Path, but they think that they are being guided aright! 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 On that Day it will not profit you in the least [to know] that, since you have sinned [together,] you are now to share your suffering [as well]. 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 And if We take thee away, We shall surely take vengeance on them. 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 And ask those of Our apostles whom We sent before you: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent Allah? 45
