Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
