Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
