Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
