(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
