The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
