The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
