A company of the former peoples 39 and a good many of later times. 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 And in the shades of Black Smoke: 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 Before they lived at ease, 45 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. 46 And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again, 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: "Indeed, the earlier and the later generations 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 You will indeed eat from the Zaqqum tree. 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 And thereon ye will drink of boiling water, 54 lapping it down like thirsty camels.' 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 We have created you, so why do you not believe? 57 Just consider (the semen) that you emit, 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 We have incorporated death in your constitution, and We shall not be hindered 60 In order that We may bring in your place the likes of you and make you grow into what you know not. 61 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect? 62 Behold! that which ye sow. 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 “We have been penalised; 66 “In fact, we were unfortunate!” 67 Have you considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Did you make its timber to grow, or did We make it? 72 We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. 73 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
