The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Everything in the heavens and earth glorifies God -- He is the Almighty, the Wise. 1 Believers, why do you say what you never do? 2 How despicable it is in the sight of Allah that you may preach what you do not practice. 3 Lo! Allah loveth them who battle for His cause in ranks, as if they were a solid structure. 4 And when Moses said to his people, 'O my people, why do you hurt me, though you know I am the Messenger of God to you?' When they swerved, God caused their hearts to swerve; and God. guides never the people of the ungodly. 5 And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic. 6 Who is more unjust than one who creates falsehood against God when he has already been invited to Islam? God does not guide the unjust people. 7 they wish to put His light out with their mouths. But He will perfect His light, much as those who deny the truth may dislike it; 8 He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them, though the polytheists may be averse. 9
